關於NCQ的硬碟
I have some questions concerning NCQ in SATA drives. I may be wrong, but i think that not every controller support NCQ. How can I check if my motherboar supprt NCQ ? (Asus P4P800) What will happen if my controller doesn't support NCQ and i buy a hard drive with NCQ ? Robert The latest 925XE supports NCQ + nForce4

NCQ
On the AMD side, their mainboards that use the nVidia nForce 4 chipsets support NCQ, given a hard drive that includes it. (The nForce 4 also supports 3 Gb/s SATA II transfer rates.) On the Intel side, I think that boards with the 955X chipset support NCQ, to go with the SATA II specs. There may be others as well.

Spurious completions during NCQ
Until 2.6.24, the AHCI driver has a problem where it'll report superious NCQ completions due to a bug in the driver logic. uname -a reports: Linux willow 2.6.23.1-hrt3 #1 SMP Sun Nov 4 14:51:20 GMT 2007 x86_64 GNU/Linux The fix is simple, upgrade your kernel to 2.6.24 :) Excellent.
